Privacy notice: business outreach to care homes
Last updated: 4 November 2026 · Next review: 4 May 2027
1. Who we are
Chapelgate Limited (trading as Chapelgate Home), registered in England and Wales, company number 12340004. Chapelgate Technologies is a trading name of Chapelgate Limited. Registered office: C/O Wainwrights Accountants Faversham House, Wirral International Business Park, Old Hall Road, Bromborough, Wirral, United Kingdom, CH62 3NX. We are the controller. Contact: [email protected].
2. What we hold
Business contact details for care homes and their operators: organisation and home name, business email address, business address, website, and in some cases the name and work email of a member of staff, plus a record of what we sent and any reply.
3. Where it came from
Public sources: the Care Quality Commission and other UK care regulators' public registers, and contact details that the home or its operator publishes on its own website. We do not buy lists.
4. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
To offer our reminiscence activity resources (such as the Weekly Look Back) to care home businesses. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We have weighed our interest against yours in a legitimate interests assessment. A summary is available on request from [email protected]. We email corporate addresses only and do not email sole traders or partnerships without consent, in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
5. Sharing
We do not sell or share your details. Our email provider (Microsoft 365 / Outlook, Microsoft Corporation) processes them on our behalf.
5a. International transfers
Microsoft may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, the transfer relies on UK adequacy regulations or on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum included in Microsoft's data protection terms.
6. How long we keep it
Prospect details are deleted 12 months after our last contact if you have not engaged with us. If you opt out, we keep only your email address (or domain) on a suppression list indefinitely, so that we never contact you again.
7. Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, erasure or restriction of your data, and you have an absolute right to object to direct marketing. To exercise them, email [email protected].
The right to data portability applies only where processing is based on consent or a contract. We rely on legitimate interests, so it does not apply here; we mention it for information.
7a. Automated decisions
We do not make decisions about you by automated means, including profiling, that have legal or similarly significant effects.
8. Opting out
Use the unsubscribe link in any email, email [email protected] with the subject "unsubscribe", or reply "unsubscribe". We act on it on the same working day and send nothing further.
9. Complaints
Please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, 0303 123 1113.
